Diagnose first, then fix it right

  1. Describe the Problem

Call or stop by with what the ski is doing, or not doing. Even a rough description helps point the diagnosis in the right direction.

  2. Diagnose the Real Issue

The shop tests before it replaces. You get a clear explanation of what failed and why, not a vague list of swapped parts.

  3. Approve a Fair Quote

You see the cost before any work starts. No surprise charges when you pick up the machine.

  4. Repair and Test

The work gets done right, from engine repair and impeller replacement to electrical troubleshooting, then tested on the water conditions that matter.

  5. Back on the Water

Fast turnaround is the point. Pick up a machine that runs right and get back to the bays before the season slips away.

If you have a PWC or jet boat, you need to know JetPro Powersports! Carl runs a good operation, where he knows how to diagnose, not just replace a bunch of parts. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and fair. I strongly recommend Carl at JetPro Powersports.

Carl did an engine swap for my 2023 VXHO Limited. He had me back on the water within a few weeks from the time I initially reached out to him. Very responsive, quick, quality work. Ski is running great.

— Shane Fennimore · 5/5 · Review from Google

Brought my jet ski here after it started acting up and im so happy i did! Carl and the crew are awesome. They figured out the problem super fast and explained everything to me which i really appreciated. Price was fair and no surprises. They kept me updated the whole time and i got it back way sooner than i expected. Runs great now, better than it has in a long time. You can tell they really care, they even answered my questions over the phone before i brought it in. Such a great shop. If your ski needs work take it here, you wont be disappointed!

About Fuel System Service

Common questions and tips from our work with Atlantic City customers.

What drives the cost of a fuel system service?

Three things: how far the contamination spread, which components failed, and whether the tank needs draining. Gum from old fuel that stays in the tank is a shorter job than varnish that has hardened inside carburetors or injectors. A clogged filter is cheap; a rebuild plus tank flush takes more labor. We diagnose first, then quote the actual work, so the price reflects what we find rather than a guess.

How does ethanol fuel damage a jet ski engine?

Ethanol absorbs water from humid shore air, and E10 blends can separate into layers when a ski sits for weeks. It also loosens deposits in older tanks and breaks down rubber fuel lines not rated for it. The result is lean running, corrosion in carburetor or injector passages, and fuel that will not burn cleanly. Treatment additives and fresh fuel help, but once gum forms, the components need physical cleaning.

Fresh fuel matters more than additives alone

Most pump gas in New Jersey is blended with up to 10 percent ethanol, and that fuel starts degrading within about 30 to 90 days in a tank. A fuel stabilizer works best when mixed into fresh gas before storage, not poured onto fuel that has already gone stale. If your ski has been sitting with last season's tank, plan on having that fuel drained and disposed of before you run it hard.

Why does my ski bog down after sitting all week?

That pattern usually points to fuel, not the engine. Fuel left in a hot tank through a humid Jersey Shore week loses volatility and can leave gum on injector tips or carb jets, so the engine runs lean at throttle. If the problem clears up after a few tanks of fresh gas, you caught it early. If it keeps bogging, the fuel path needs cleaning before it leans out enough to damage a piston.

Straight answers about jet ski service

How much does jet ski repair cost?

Every job starts with a diagnosis, not a guess. A worn wear ring is a small job, a rebuilt engine is a big one, and the price reflects what we actually find. We quote the work before we touch anything, and if something new turns up inside the engine, you get a call before we proceed. Expect a straight number based on the real problem.

Do you give free estimates before repairs?

Yes. Bring the ski in or describe the symptoms over the phone and we will diagnose the issue, then give you a firm quote before any work begins. If teardown reveals something the first look could not show, we stop, call you, and explain the options. No surprise charges on the final invoice.

Where is JetPro Powersport located?

1501 N Albany Ave in Atlantic City, NJ, minutes from the marinas and back bays. PWC owners tow in from Ventnor, Margate, Longport, Egg Harbor Township, Ocean City and the rest of Atlantic County. Drop-offs are easy from the Black Horse Pike or the AC Expressway, and there is room to maneuver a trailer.

What are the shop's hours?

Weekdays from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturdays until early afternoon, closed Sundays. Summer Saturdays go fast because everyone is riding, so call ahead and get on the schedule rather than showing up mid-morning hoping for a bay.

How often should a jet ski be serviced?

Once a season at minimum for the basics: oil and filter, spark plugs, and a general inspection. Saltwater riding adds work. Flush after every outing, check the sacrificial zinc anodes through the summer, and have the jet pump looked at if you beach the ski or ride shallow water. A spring checkup catches most problems before they strand you offshore.

When should I winterize my PWC in South Jersey?

Before the first hard freeze, usually late October or early November around Atlantic City. The process is a full fresh-water flush, fogging oil in the cylinders, stabilizer run through the fuel system, and antifreeze protection for the block. A ski that sits in a garage all winter with salt water in the pump and raw fuel in the lines will cost you a spring's worth of riding.

What are the signs my jet pump or impeller needs repair?

Sluggish acceleration, vibration under throttle, a top speed that has dropped off, or a rattling sound from the pump with debris in it. Back-bay riding around Atlantic City is hard on impellers because sand and shallow water chew the leading edges. We pull the pump, check impeller and wear-ring clearances with actual measurements, and replace only what the numbers say needs replacing.

Do you service older two-stroke jet skis?

Yes. Two-stroke skis are a big part of what comes through the shop, from carburetor cleaning and fuel system service to top-end work. Carb models need different attention than fuel-injected four-strokes, and our techs work on both every week. If your older ski still has life in it, we will help you get it there.

Should I get a used jet ski inspected before buying?

Always. Sellers rarely mention a scored crank or a worn pump, and those problems are expensive to inherit. Our pre-purchase inspection covers compression, the jet pump, the electrical system, hull condition, and a run test so you know how the machine actually performs under load. It is cheap insurance against someone else's neglected maintenance.

Do you handle emergency or after-hours jet ski repairs?

Regular shop hours are 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays and Saturday mornings, but we know a blown engine mid-July cannot wait a week. Call the shop, describe what the ski is doing, and if it is urgent we will do everything reasonable to squeeze you in. Mid-season breakdowns get priority scheduling whenever the bays allow it.

What payment methods do you accept?

Standard payment methods, including major credit and debit cards and cash. You see the full total, approved by you, before we start the job, and the invoice matches the quote. If you have questions about how billing works for a larger job like an engine rebuild, call and ask, we would rather explain it up front.

How long does a typical repair take?

It depends on the diagnosis. A battery replacement or an oil and fluid service is usually same-day. Jet pump and impeller work often takes a couple of days. Engine repair or a full engine swap can stretch to a few weeks depending on parts availability, and we will tell you that honestly before you commit. You get status updates the whole time your ski is in the shop.
